Edward Pajak:
Edward Pajak is a professor and chair of the Department of Teacher Development and Leadership at Johns Hopkins University. He earned his bachelor's degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo and began his teaching career at the middle school level in the Buffalo and Syracuse areas. After completing a master's and doctoral degree at Syracuse University, he served on the faculties of Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Georgia, as well as in several administrative positions.
Before moving to Johns Hopkins in 2001, Dr. Pajak led a systemic educational improvement effort in Northeast Georgia involving collaboration among institutions of higher education, local community groups, and PreK-12 schools. He also served for two years as co-director of Georgia's statewide Teacher Quality Plan. Dr. Pajak has published more than 40 articles in professional journals, most recently; the Journal of Curriculum and Supervision, the Journal of Teacher Education, and the San Francisco Jung Institute Library Journal. He has authored and co-edited four books, including: Approaches to Clinical Supervision: Alternatives for Improving Instruction (Christopher-Gordon); Contemporary Issues in Curriculum (Allyn and Bacon); the Handbook of Research on School Supervision (Macmillan); and The Central Office Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction: Setting the Stage for Success (Allyn and Bacon). Dr. Pajak currently serves as president of the Council of Professors of Instructional Supervision.
