About the Authors

Margaret Dyreson:

Dr. Margaret Dyreson started her career as a teacher, teaching different classes from elementary school to undergraduate pedagogical courses. After obtaining her Ph.D. in instructional materials design from the University of Florida, she worked at the authoring and publishing house in that state, where she wrote educational materials and advised schools on new teaching methods. Then she taught learning psychology at Utah State University, where she also worked as director of the Learning Aid Center. At this center, Dr. Margaret was responsible for helping students gain a better understanding of learning skills and processes.

Dr. Margaret Dyerson worked in the field of education in the Arab region from 1981 to 1991. During these years, Dr. Margaret was consulting and cooperating extensively with Arab educational institutions, especially in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, in order to design curricula and educational materials for students in addition to training materials for teachers. As she specializes in the field of reading, she has designed programs to teach reading for Arab students in Arabic and English. In developing these programs, she benefited from the latest research findings in the fields of "learning to read" and "reading for learning purposes". And she made adjustments in line with the special requirements of the Arabic language through its cooperation with Arab teachers and officials specialized in this field. Dr. Margaret was an educational consultant for Dhahran ahliyya Schools for seven years during which she wrote, based on experiences and field observations in schools, the following wonderful books that we have published: Teaching Reading KG-6, Strategies for Reading Comprehension, Feedback, Shared Inquiry, Mapping Text Patterns.
